Studio fashion shoot, lace dress with paper props

Inspiration image by David Lachapelle DAVID LACHAPELLE

For this project I’ve got inspired by the image above by David LaChapelle. I really like the mood of the image and I would like to create something similar in the studio. I will use only one model here and I will experiment with different studio set ups and backdrops. Instead of orange feel in the image I will add pink colour. I’ve bought the lace dress by designer Kelly Ewing. I choose the dress, because its sexy and the vintage lace look adds the timeless feel to the image. As a props I created paper decoration which will be hanging down from the sealing. I will use studio backdrop rail above the models were I will attach the paper balls. The paper balls will be tree different colours, dark pink, baby pink and white. I want to play around with the composition of the balls, but they will be in different length, sometimes partly cover models face or part of her body. Because I want photograph the model top less, I will be working in small team only, one model and MUA/Hair stylist. I will need MUA to do the hair and make-up.

MAKE-UP

Make-up will be very colourful. I’ve done research on make up and found these two images in google images. I would like similar make up to this, but will depend on MUA and her skills. Because I can’t afford to pay MUA will use one of the students. Hair style will be big curly hair. I will prefer to get a model which has curly hair already or MUA will recreate the look in the studio.

research

First image I found on designer’s Kelly Ewing website, I was long at the pose of the model in corset dress. I like the position of the hand and the confident look. I am not sure about the legs, because it looks very childish but like the combination of the dress and thighs. I lie the combination of big hair and the dress. I will use some head piece as well for changing the look during the shoot which i will buy in wedding accessories on line shop.

Tim-Walker-Kate-Moss-2012 Tim Walker

Image of Kate Moss by Tim Walker inspired me for using flowers as a props as well. I really like the odd position of the flower on her head. I also like on this image that model is looking away and I will make my model to don’t look in the camera.

Another image by Tim Walker combine short dress and the flowers. I like the idea to place something in front of the object. I will use paper ball hanging from the ceiling which I will place in front of the model’s face and this will be one of the topless images. So there will be breast seen but not the face.

During my research I found images by Patric Demarchelier which I really like. In combination of my props and dress I can create similar effect.

I choose this image as an inspiration for using different angle of shooting to enhance look of dress or models face.

I was looking at different studio set up and using props around the model. I will still keep researching that, to get as many possibilities and original ideas.

I found this two images on websites by wedding saloons. I use this as an first inspiration and ideas for how to use the props but my set will be different and more simple.

I was also researching partial nude or sexy images by famous photographers. I would like to show different parts of body to attract attention of viewer.

This images inspired me how to use the big skirt in different twist. I also like the shoes here which give the rock feel to the outfit.

Next two images by Patrick Demarchelier I will use as an aspiration for the poses.
